About Metalex

Manufacturer of Expanded Metal, Perforated Products, Welded and Spiral Tubes

History

Metalex was founded in 1961 in Libertyville, Illinois by two local entrepreneurs. With diverse
and complementary expertise in salesmanship and engineering, they grew their company with
one machine in a small factory on the east edge of town. In 1979, we moved into our current
facility on the site of a race horse farm in south Libertyville. We continued to grow,
adding on to the original building in 1983, increasing total square footage to 150,000 and total
equipment to twenty-three expanding lines, a full machine shop and complete post processing
department that includes shears, punches and forms.

In 1993, the company was acquired by Jason Incorporated, a Wisconsin holding company.
We are part of Jason's Component Group with Advance Wire Products, a wire former, Assembled
Products, a high speed assembler, and precision metal stamper. Jason brings Metalex financial
resources and business vision commensurate with a growing conglomerate. With their help,
we are accelerating our tradition of industry leadership.

Expertise

Metalex Sales personnel are all long term employees with years of experience at the company. Armed with full product and capability knowledge, they can do much more than take your order. They can help you determine the proper product for your needs, whether it is expanded metal, perforated metal, or perforated tube.

Our Engineering department builds and enhances all production equipment. Two patents in 1997 attest to our engineers' ingenuity. Engineering personnel routinely consult with customers' design teams on fitness for use, manufacturability and process. We are currently unveiling a new paperless Manufacturing process that increases factory efficiencies and at the same time we maintain a Quality Control system that supports complete traceability. Metalex is a TS16949 certified company.

Metalex enjoys sole source partnerships with many of our customers. We maintain a Quality Preferred rating with Baldwin Company, a division of Clarcor. Donaldson Company awards us with their Strategic Supplier designation.
